Claudia M. Brylla, age 85, of Reedsburg, died peacefully on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Our House Senior Living surrounded by her family. She was born on May 1, 1935 in Richland County, the daughter of Henry and Della (Doering) Peterson. Claudia was a graduate of Reedsburg High School and the Sauk County Normal School. On January 3, 1958, she was married to Arnold E. Brylla. Claudia taught elementary school, did homebound teaching, was a special education teacher and lastly was a school librarian in Loganville. Following retirement, she worked at Lands’ End in Reedsburg for several years. She was a lifetime member of the Queen of Sheba # 26 – Order of the Eastern Star. Claudia enjoyed the annual fishing trips to Canada, the Alaskan cruises, gardening, canning and spending time with her grandchildren and her great granddaughters.
Survivors include her three children: Carrie Brylla-Marson, of Madison; Dan (Sue) Brylla, of Reedsburg; and David (Bjorn) Brylla, of Bay View; two grandchildren: Christopher Brylla and Jessica Brylla (Jason O’Hara); two great-granddaughters: Abbigail and Chloe; her Canadian family; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: Arnie, on July 14, 2016; her parents; her son-in-law: Dave Marson; two brothers: Thomas and Jack Peterson and two sisters: Josephine Brantmeyer and Audrey Peterson.
A private family service will be held at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg. A Celebration of Life gathering will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Agrace Hospice would be appreciated.
