Evelyn E. Reusch, (nee Eggena) age 89, of Prairie du Sac, passed away peacefully at UW Hospital with family at her side on Monday, August 23, 2021.
Evelyn is survived by her husband of sixty-seven years: Robert; four children: Eric, Linda, LeAnn (Robert) and Ronald (Sherry); six grandchildren: Douglas (Gloria), James (Shannel), Katherine (Shmuel), Mark (Tanya), Genevieve (Eric) and Kyla (Tony); two great-grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; her sister: Ruth; brother: Alvin (Dorothy); her sister-in-law: Betty; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and in laws, Evelyn was preceded in death by her brother-in-law: Art (Jeanette); sister-in-law: Eva (John); three nieces, four nephews and a great niece.
Evelyn was a farm wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother as well as a business woman. She began her business career as a bookkeeper for several businesses in town and also was the clerk for the Township of Ironton and then started her own real estate company in Reedsburg. She later worked in the Madison real estate market as a partner in Pyramid Realty Company. Evelyn was active in her church as a member of the Peace Circle, Bible Study, member and past president of the WELCA. She also created and maintained the Veterans Memorial for many years at the church as well as participating in the outreach missions of the church. She enjoyed her travels to Hawaii, Branson, Salt Lake City, Washington DC, Chicago, Portugal and Germany. Evelyn had a lifelong love of learning and encouraged others to do the same. She joined master gardening classes at age seventy and attained her S.E.C. license at the age of seventy-five. But she always maintained a strong sense of her history especially her life in her early years in Iowa and being known for her awesome apple pies.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Loganville with Pastor Donald Glanzer and Vicar Nathaniel Adkins officiating. Interment will be St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Saturday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg and from 12 noon until the time of the service on Sunday at the church. The family is requesting that face masks please be worn at all times. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Peter’s WELCA or the American Heart Association would be appreciated.
