Harold J. Miller, age 92, of Reedsburg, formerly of Cazenovia, died on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at St. Clare Hospice House with family by his side. He was born on December 30, 1927 in Elgin, Illinois, the son of Henry and Kathryn (Stickling) Miller. On April 23, 1949, he married the former Mary Ann Fay. They enjoyed sixty-five years of marriage before her passing in 2014. Harold spent his younger years as a dairy farmer. He went on to own and operate Miller Feed and Supply. He then spent his retirement years working at the Reedsburg Hardware store where he was known for his chainsaw sharpening skills. Harold enjoyed woodworking, especially making frames for his puzzles, which he shared with family and friends.
Survivors include his six children: Virginia “Ginny” (Jerry) Schultz, of Genoa, IL; Lucy Peterson (Jimbo Gray), of New Port Richey, FL; Glenn (Diane) Miller, of Cazenovia; David (Barb) Miller, of Reedsburg; Carolyn (Allan) Pellett, of Richland Center and Steven (Julie) Miller, of Reedsburg; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother: Bob (MaryLou) Miller, of Genoa, IL; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary; five brothers and three sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:30 A.M. on Monday, March 2, 2020, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg with Father David Carrano officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Sunday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg and after 10:30 A.M. on Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Reedsburg Food Pantry would be appreciated.
