Lucille (Conwell) Borleske, 88 of Reedsburg, died Thursday, July 21, 2022, at the Sauk County Health Care Center in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, where she lived for the last four (4) years.  Lucille was born April 7, 1934, in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, the daughter of Vincent J. and Johanna H. (Lennartz) Conwell.

On June 15, 1943, at age 9, Vincent J. Conwell, her father, passed away at age 44.  Lucille’s mother, Johanna, raised both Lucille and her older brother, Paul, as a single parent in the city of Cedarburg.  Lucille graduated from Cedarburg High School on May 29, 1952.  One year later on June 27, 1953, she married Erwin Borleske.  Lucille remained a devoted wife to her husband for 64 years until his passing on October 4, 2017. During their marriage, Lucille and Erwin lived in numerous locations including Random Lake, Lake Delton, and Reedsburg, Wisconsin.  They also lived for a number of years in Valier, Illinois.

Lucille told many people during her life that her childhood dream was to be a mother.  She was blessed with eleven (11) children, ten (10) who survive her passing.  Surviving children include; Ervin (Linda) Borleske, Reedsburg; Michael Borleske; Susan (Randall) Proeber, Lake Delton; Thomas (Earlene) Borleske, LaValle; Adam (Deanne) Borleske, Lake Delton; Ann (Wes) Watts, Arizona; Ruth (Gerald) Kaun, Baraboo; Sharon (Paul) Borowick, Eau Claire;  Vincent (Michelle) Borleske, Arizona; and Christine (Joseph) Zweck, Madison.  She was a grandmother to 23 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to countless descendants thus achieving her lifelong ambition of motherhood.

Lucille is predeceased by her husband, Erwin Borleske, daughter Terri, great grandchild Owen Nielsen and her brother Paul Conwell.

In addition to caring for her children and extended family, Lucille loved many things including quilting, gardening and animals.  She spent many hours cultivating house plants and creating beautiful outdoor flower gardens.  She loved animals including her precious white cat, Puff, and collecting knick-knacks of birds.  In her later years, she also became a very competitive BINGO player, a connoisseur of chocolate, and loved McDonald’s coffee.  Most importantly, Lucille cared about and treated everyone she met with kindness, respect, and gratitude.
