Philip H. “Mort” Grosskrueger, age 86, of Reedsburg, died on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Casa de Oakes in Reedsburg. He was born on May 27, 1934 in the Town of Westfield, Sauk County, the son of Herman and Margaretha (Garske) Grosskrueger. Phil was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the U.S. Army. In October 1961, he was married to the former Harriet C. Bradley. Phil worked at the Sauk County Highway Department for over thirty years until his retirement. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and the Reedsburg American Legion. He had a great love for the American flag which he so proudly displayed in his yard and on his flagpole. Phil enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and traveling.
He is survived by two nieces: Sharon and Carol; one nephew: Richard; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife: Harriet, on May 23, 2012; his brother: Henry, and his sister: Dorothy.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 8, 2021 at Faith Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Pastor Steven Neyhart officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery in Reedsburg. Military honors will be provided by the Reedsburg Area Veterans Honor Guard. There will be a visitation from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Sunday at the Hoof Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Faith Lutheran Church would be appreciated. Face masks and social distancing guidelines will be followed.

It is all very much appreciated.
