Ricky L. Brantley

December 17, 1954 ~ September 27, 2020 (age 65)


Ricky L. “Rick” Brantley, age 65, of Reedsburg, died peacefully on Sunday, September 27, 2020 in his home following a brief battle with cancer.  He was born on December 17, 1954 in LaPorte, Indiana, the son of Richard L. and C. Alwilda (Rowley) Brantley.  Rick was a veteran of the Vietnam Era serving with the U.S. Air Force.  On January 11, 1975, he was married to the former Mary A. Koch.  Rick attended college at Purdue North Central College in Westville, IN.  Rick worked for the next thirty-six years for the IBM Corporation.  He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, campfires, spending time with his family and friends.

  Survivors include his wife: Mary; his mother: Alwilda “Willie” Brantley, of Reedsburg; his son: Christopher and his fiancée, Amy Schonenberger, of Sauk City; Amy’s son: Tyler Moritz; his beagle: Bella; special friends: Karl and Donna Hartzke, of Oklahoma; other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his father: Richard Brantley and his father and mother-in-law: Robert and Dorothy Koch Sr.

  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Memorials to the Beads of Courage, which helps younger people battling cancer, would be appreciated.
